Kitchen Bar Stool Made From Solid Oak, Ash or Walnut
Perfect For:
Kitchen islands and breakfast bars
Home bars and dining spaces
Modern, Scandinavian, or rustic interiors
Side table or plant stand
Details:
Materials: Solid oak, ash, or walnut
Seat diameter: 32 cm
Height: Customisable to suit bar or counter height
Joinery: Through wedged mortise and tenon
Finish: Danish oil, satin sheen
Design: Three turned legs with offset stretchers for strength and balance
A refined take on a classic form — this handcrafted bar stool combines sculptural turning, balanced proportions, and traditional joinery. Made by hand from solid oak, ash, or walnut, each stool is built to last and finished to bring out the natural grain of the wood.
The round seat measures 32 cm in diameter, slightly larger than my other bar stool designs, giving a comfortable and generous perch. The three turned, tapered legs are joined with three stretchers, each set at a different height, creating both visual rhythm and strength.
Each leg is secured to the seat with through wedged joinery, an age-old technique that locks the components together and highlights honest craftsmanship. Finished with Danish oil in a satin sheen, the stool feels smooth to the touch and showcases the wood’s depth and tone.
Each stool is handmade to order in my Essex workshop. Because every piece is individually turned and finished, subtle variations in grain and tone make each stool unique.
